Vorposten Boot

Of the many German patrol boats that served during the war, the VP-Boot or Vorpostenboot was perhaps the most feared by the Royal Navy. Built as an escort boat from many different pre-war fishing vessels, yachts or harbour craft, they were simple and robust – perfect to mount a large variety of weaponry, an equivalent to the trawlers of the Royal Navy.

I am quite pleased with this boat for Cruel Seas (or maybe Narrow Seas). I tried to add a flag to the stern mast but gave up after a while. I'll try again later!

Nice model! I read up about the V-boot when researching for a set of naval rules a friend and I wrote, and yes, from all accounts they were nasty buggers to tangle with. MGBs and MTBs alike hated to deal with them.

The rules maybe a bit naff but the models are lovely. Great paint job on this, the cameo is wild.

Thanks, A J. It is interesting. I had never come across one of these boats before I bought this model. Looking forward to trying it out in a game.

The models are good, I have a few more to paint up yet. Yes, I am pleased with that camo scheme. I'm looking for a few different ones to make painting more interesting.

They are lovely models. I have an armed trawler to do next and I'm working on some scenery.
