Black Seas Arrives!

Much excitement here at Snapcase Hall today. Old Scrotum (the wrinkled and ancient family retainer) came into the library struggling under the weight  of a large packet dispatched from Warlord Games. Inside was my pre-order of this golden age of sail game set between 1770 and 1830, 'Black Seas'.

I think you are going to have a lot of fun with this Martin!

Im looking forward to you take on this, as you know I went ghe Sails of Glory route, I've played 4 ships a side but I think it starts to run out of steam at that number. Black seas should do many more per side. I don't know if that will give a better game or not.

Nice I played one of these types of games with a mate once in which the ships were pre-painted Martin, are these pre-painted ?

You are right there, Michael. I've had a quick look and the ship models look lovely.

The game designer reckons you can do Trafalgar at 1:1! You just need a very big table. I don't think I'll be starting off that big though.

Yes, you get a sheet of sails pre-coloured in the starter box and there is a download on the Warlord site for a PDF of sails to print yourself.

Good stuff Martin! They are going to demo this at the club this weekend and I can already get the feeling that I'm going to pick it up 🙂

That's good. Are you going to post some photos on your blog?

Got there a bit late as they were finishing up the last turns, so no real photos but I did buy a couple of things that I'll probably show.
